October 2013

We started the month off with a family camping trip to Camp Avondale in Clinton. The boys had a great time fishing....they ended up fishing longer than expected so they didn't do the archery. As a pack we took home 4 of the 6 trophies awarded. Kaitlyn took home the most fish caught by a sibling trophie....so she was excited. Saturday the boys (mostly the sibling sisters) decorated a pumpkin using only stuff from nature. Saturday night the kids got to tent or treat....it started raining...so the tent or treat was really short...but the kids enjoyed it. There was a tropical storm in the gulf that was projected to bring lots of rain on Sunday morning...so everyone from our pack decided to leave Saturday night.

Kaitlyn went to the Ren Fest for Girl Scout day...they did lots of activities from back in the 1800's. She made butter, candles, learned how to dance and what games they played...she even made a dress of the times.

Kase entered chickens into the fair and won 1st place, Coby and Kaitlyn entered ducks and won first place too. The kids also entered some 4H handmade items....they rec'vd several ribbons for those items as well. Kids decorated pumpkins for the 4H pumpkin contest and the cub scout pumpkin contest. All of their pumpkins on ribbons...

Our fall festival with Cub Scouts was a huge success. We had some different activities this year that the scouts enjoyed. The pumpkins were very creative....

The kids went to a Trunk or Treat in Independence for Halloween. The weather was nasty so the kids didn't get to trick or treat very long....but they still ended up with a lot of candy.
